Get involved

Volunteering with Rape Crisis Grampian is a rewarding use of time, but it is a serious commitment. We provide extensive training, which was devised by Rape Crisis Scotland.

Every support practitioner must pass an assessment at the end of this training to show the skills can be applied, correctly. The training takes place online and is 60 hours spread over 10 weeks.

This covers everything we expect a volunteer to know and gives room for in-depth discussions, questions, reflection and practical skill practice time.

We ask for at least 1 year of commitment from when you start supporting your 1st survivor and your time to provide support sessions to 2 survivors each week.

We are a person-centred and holistic service, so support looks slightly different for each person, but the standard of support delivered by volunteers should always be of the highest level.

You will receive support from the Volunteer Co-ordinator and Management and become an integral part of the wider team.

There will be opportunities to take part in further training and to represent RCG at local events.
